PESQUEIRA; Fun and sensitive

Pesqueira ™ is a brand of clothing and accessories from Argentina whos creative director is the designer Valeria Pesqueira. She has a unique sesnsibility, which transmits within each collection she designs.

The brand has a store located in the Palermo neighborhood in Buenos Aires. Upon entering, we are enticed to roam around the store, because at every step we find interesting spaces within it. The place is charming, and invites us to observe and feel immersed in a small world of fantasies and childhood memories. Most excitingly it is very playful providing us with the perfect combination indeed. Pesqueira ™ garments are assembled using genres of fine materials and high quality.

Something very characteristic of the Pesqueira ™ brand, is the use of prints which are very entertaining to look at.  In particular, the graphics are of very sensitive and interesting elements connected with nature for instance, vast flora, fauna and landscapes are protruding.

The colours and contrasts are already identified as Pesqueira ™ regarding the use of colour, always combining very judicious manner and without excess. The designs are timeless and unconditionally to fashion trends. With all this we would like to think we can use them for a lifetime and cherish them forever.

The stars of it wildlife designs are bears, birds, rabbits and dogs In terms of the use of its wildlife collection special mention must be made for Pesqueira ™ accessories and footwear.  Portfolios comprise of, envelopes, wallets and purses. These cute little animals have managed to win the hearts of the many worldwide fans and celebrities of Pesqueira ™. It is also designing leather accessories with some volume and texture that make a real, cuddly and friendly touch.

Overall, we can say that we are dealing with a brand that has managed to materialize with a playfulness that has very clear concepts such as good manners, pure colours, aesthetics and a simplified silhouette that suits everybody.

The brand has recently added a new member to their fun wildlife collection. This is a cute rabbit that, I believe in time, will become the new star and showgirl in Pesqueira ™

This South American design, is booming and is the focus of major fashion retailers outside of South America. This is clear when we learn that we can find Pesqueira ™ products in the most prestigious multi-brand stores in the world, such as HP France in Tokyo, Moma in NYC and Tokyo and, most importantly in Opening Ceremony in NYC and LA.

ARGENTINEAN DESIGN INVOLVE SPORT

There is something very interesting happening in the Argentinean fashion market when two companies, one  with more commercial profile and the other with more creative profilecome together strategically to show the best of themselves.

Topper is a leading sports and footwear brand in Argentina with over 30 years of experience in the market, nationwide presence and strong business profile. Moreover, Martin Churba is a talented designer and textile artist from Argentina and is the leader of the company Tramando with exclusive shops in the city of Buenos Aires and Tokyo. Both brands are of Argentinean origin.

In Spring / Summer 2012/13, Topper created a limited edition line in collaboration with Martin Churba.

The collection consists of sportswear with interesting textile interventions that are designed with great care concerning specific technical adaptations. Sports science has been applied to the designs and selection of textiles.

These garments have been specifically designed for women seeking to maintain their style and personality when playing sports, whilst supporting the female body during sporting activities. Overall the concept of the collection is a fusion between fashion, sport and technology trends.

This is the second time the company Topper  and the designer Martin Churba unite with purpose as differentiators. This is a good thing for big brands with experience in the market because they allow networking between artists and designers from Argentina with international projection. Argentina national industry is favoured everywhere.

TO FEEL GOOD IS ALSO TO LOOK GOOD !!

Here are some examples of what can be achieved by making two marks synergy.

BESTIA'S, Made in Chile, not in China.

Whenever I come across a brand, I try to follow and analyse their proposals. Most of the time, these revolve around the development of the product, its collection, and brand image campaign, etc… Well, not all cases are the same. Some time ago I came across a Chilean brand of shoes called BESTIAS , which began as a challenge of two young Chilean industrial designers called Felipe Velasco and Ignacio Rios. The intention is to revive the Chilean footwear industry, which deal with the flood of Chinese shoes sold in that country, that was about to disappear.

The proposal seeks to reinitiate not only Chilean design, but also the industry of that country, where only 10% of the footwear consumed in Chile comes from national industry officials said, the rest is all imported.

The most interesting aspects of this brand are the social values they propose.  In particular they seeks to respect and admire the master craftsman of the shoe, select a fine selection of raw materials of domestic origin and maintain a close link to with the designer.  Above all, they ensure that the customer values this commitment and develop a way to generate new sources of employment in Chile. Therefore, establishing a sincere relationship between the commercial and social.

As a result of all this effort and acceptance by the local public,  BESTIAS opened its first store, just a few weeks ago, in the always-interesting Drugstore Gallery in the city of Santiago de Chile.

The speech and message as brand and product proposition are really inspiring. The importance of working only with input from Chile and using local master shoemakers who have the job of a lifetime, is definitely a highlight.

I leave you with a video of BESTIAS to know a little more about the proposal of the brand.

TALITHA. A relationship within the garment

A few weeks ago I finally met Talitha brand in their showroom in the city of Buenos Aires. Honestly, for a long time I had the intension of visiting the showroom to see her clothes and finally I had the opportunity to feel and try them on.

Cecilia Hernandez, the creative director in Talitha, is a young Ecuadorian, who became a professional designer in the city of Buenos Aires. She shuttles between the two countries and has big plans to develop her brand in Argentina.

Regarding the clothes, I can say that the feel of the textures are incredibly interesting. They feel like caressing objects attached to our body and therefore allow us to move as if we were with some protection.

A Wonderful Experience! Additionally, the clothes generate interesting organic irregularities and volume to
the body.

The fabrics are very natural. The feeling is unique due to the certain structure and strength of the fabrics.

Cecilia Hernandez explains that these are unique pieces, experimental designs and the philosophy of the sensitive relationship that develops between the subject's clothing (the garment) and in the subject (the person). Fortunately, I've experienced in complete agreement, what Cecilia Hernandez wants to communicate.

I wait in anticipation for the next collection!

Sustainable Sunglasses

Tronco Peumo

I would like to present Tronco a Chilean Brand of Sunglasses. This design of sunglasses has an interesting proposal of sustainable development, which works to strengthen entrepreneurship in Chile. Likewise, I consider them a must have for this upcoming fashion season!

Tronco sunglasses designs are is characterized by reforestation wood. It presents a new proposal to dress your eyes in a more sustainable way with similar durability of polycarbonate glasses, as they have a protective film that makes the wood stronger.

One of those responsible for the brand Tronco is Eduardo Castillo, who told us that the project originated in a trip to Canada years ago. There he met a person who, in connection with an artisan, began to prepare the project.

This collection was inspired during the early 60's around redesigned classic models of optics, such as Rayban, Carrera and Gucci, etc… Their materials are 100% organic and reforested wood is used. On the other hand, the brand is developing a plan to donate a tree for every pair sold. The product is manufactured by a Canadian carpenter using wood as raw material reforested from eucalyptus.

The brand Tronco make their own creations. Likewise, they want to increase the profile of the woodwork and craftsmanship
